Acceptable Use Policy

This document is designed to help users understand the acceptable use and abuse of Citynetusa's service and the Internet. It is our goal to provide easy, safe and affordable access to the Internet where you can have many hours of enjoyment.

Acceptable use is defined as, but is not limited to, use of the Internet where a dedicated line is not required for personnel enjoyment, education or business such as e-mail of friend, relatives and associates or surfing.

System abuse is strictly prohibited. Citynetusa Internet Service may terminate your account immediately, hold you financially liable for damages(as well as 3 times your outstanding bill) and/or bring legal action against you if you engage in system abuse. System abuse is defined as, but is not limited to:

1. Attempting to circumnavigate security of any host, network or account whether it is located at Citynetusa or elsewhere on the Internet. Commonly known as "Cracking".
2. Giving out your username and password
3. Sending large numbers of unsolicited mail messages(ie. Junk Mail) or operating an open relay smtp server anywhere on Citynetusa's network.
4. Posting inappropriate messages to newsgroups(spamming)
5. Harrasment in any way of other users on the internet - This includes size and frequency of e-mail messages, language, or interfering with or denying access to any user of the internet.
6. Using an account to collect messages sent from another provider which violate the rules of Citynetusa or the other provider.
7. Using a program such as a "ponger", automatic e-mail checking, ICQ, or IRC to keep your connection alive while you are not at your computer.

This list is a guideline and does not cover every possible situation. If you are unsure whether an action is acceptable you should contact us for evaluation.

• Citynetusa will not open your personal email unless:
  • We have your consent to open your email for the purpose of repairing or troubleshooting damaged or otherwise corrupt mailboxes or;
  • We respond to subpoenas, court orders or legal process; or
  • We find that your actions violate Citynetusa Acceptable Use Policy,
